Huysmans.org was set up by Brendan King in 1997 as an academic research resource. At present, it comprises over 1,000 pages and includes almost the whole of Huysmans’ published writings, numerous pieces of contemporary criticism, book reviews, journalistic profiles and detailed bibliographic information.
Brendan King completed his PhD on J.-K. Huysmans’ life and work in 2004. His translations of Huysmans' work, published by Dedalus Books, include Là-bas (2001), Parisian Sketches (2004), Marthe (2006), Against Nature (2008), Stranded (2010), The Vatard Sisters (2012), Drifting (2017). and Modern Art (2019). He also revised and annotated the second edition of Robert Baldick’s seminal biography The Life of J.-K. Huysmans (Dedalus Books, 2006). For further information about this site or about J.-K.
