A reprint of Hugues Rebell's profile of Huysmans, written sometime after the publication of Là-bas and before that of En route, and published in 1953 at the instigation of Auriant, though without including any further biographical information, in consecutive issues of Quo Vadis Nos. 59, 60, 61. The book has a preface written by Skender Abd-el Malek, a pseudonym for William Théry, who ran Editions À l'écart.

This edition is now very difficult to find and is not even listed in the BNF catalogue. The book was produced in an edition of 25 hardback copies on Vergé d'Ingres, numbered I to XXV, of which this copy is number I. A pencilled annotation on the justification page states that 10 additional hardback copies were produced hors commerce, together with 90 paperback copies on Venin lilial and 20 copies on coloured paper.
