This plaquette is a reprint of an article by Edmond de Bruijn published in the February-April 1898 issue of Le Spectateur Catholique, a periodical that Bruijn, who was born in Anvers in 1875, was the founder and director. Bruijn was interested in art and literature and published a pre-publication extract from La Cathédrale in the January 1898 issue of Le Spectateur Catholique.
